Dear Pastor and Minister Friend,
The Maine Network of Prayer Summit, to be held December 6, 7, & 8 at the Apostolic Lighthouse Church in Bangor, will undoubtedly impact the saints you pastor, your God given personal ministry and the future of our district. Services on Thursday and Friday will begin at 7:30pm and on Saturday at 1:00pm. Over the course of three days we will be given the opportunity to undertake a great assignment in the Kingdom of God; “2Ch 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” At the close of each nightly message the altars will be open for all to come and “linger” in prayer. I pray that a sweeping move of the Holy Ghost will fall upon us as we seek the face of God.
We will be blessed with the ministry of Rev. Melvin Calhoun (President of Northeast Christian College), Rev. Harry M. Lewis (Superintendent of the Atlantic District) and Rev. Lester Mitchell (Dean of Academics at Northeast Christian College), so please make your plans now to attend.
There is no registration charge for this event. Bishop Stoops has asked all pastors that can to please send $100.00, or an amount that is affordable from your assembly to our district secretary, Rev. Thomas Channell, or you can bring your offering to the Prayer Summit. The offering will help to cover the expenses of this district meeting.
The Maine Network of Prayer Summit is not to be labeled a meeting (what man organizes), but rather a time for revival (what God outpours). In Acts 4, when the apostles were unjustly arrested, imprisoned and then threatened, they didn’t call for a protest, they didn’t reach for some political leverage. Instead, they headed to a prayer meeting. Soon the place was vibrating with the power of the Holy Ghost (vv.23-31). A strong indictment of modern day church life that hits home very clearly is this; If our people don’t have an appetite for God, what does it matter how many are attending the services? How would the numbers impress God? In the face of a world that is ignoring the salvation of Jesus Christ, we can either, humble ourselves before God and return to His basics, or we can go on dancing the lonely, unfulfilled dance of indifference. Satan laughs when he can get our churches to spend their valuable energy focusing on trivial pursuits, or issues that have no eternal significance whatsoever. The potential to see every local church within the Maine District United Pentecostal Church explode with the Life of God rests in the balance of a decision to pray.
See you at the Summit!
Blessings,
Rev. Rick Vincent
